Dear USC Pre-Health Community,
My name is Maya Chu and I will be the President of Inter-Health Council for the 2022-2023 school year. Since its inception, IHC has had one consistent goal: to bring together students interested in health-related issues and careers. Throughout my time at IHC, I have worked with my fellow IHC members to make this goal possible. For me, the best way to do this was by increasing the transparency of our pre-health community and the many opportunities found within it. Everyday, pre-health students are volunteering in the local Los Angeles area, partaking in ground breaking research, and building strong social connections through study groups and student organizations. My ideal pre-health community strives to showcase all of these incredible opportunities to new and current pre-health students. I want to foster an environment where students feel like they have the resources they need to succeed.
This year, I will seek to further this goal by not only bringing relevant information to the community, but also creating avenues to further explore what it means to be a pre-health student. I want to involve IHC in USC-wide projects that aim to facilitate discussions about how we can improve the medical system we all hope to work in. It is especially relevant that we all work together as the current US political environment is constantly challenging fundamental medical rights that all patients deserve.
As president, I welcome any feedback to improve IHC’s role in the pre-health community. I also ask any individual, group, or organization at USC or outside of our campus to let us know about your latest projects and opportunities with the hope that we can support all your exciting endeavors. I would love to see USC continue to grow our lovely pre-health community!
If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out to [email protected] or my personal email, [email protected]
Best,
Maya Chu
